Director of Development (Fundraising)

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Job Location: New York

Lotus Lee Foundation is a newly established New York City based 501(c)3 non-profit theatre organization. Lotus Lee Foundation is partnered with the Lotus Lee Drama Studios which is a theatre company founded in Shanghai in 2015. Our mission is to engage in a cultural exchange between China and the United States, to produce new works in the United States and China, and to bring theatre and new theatre technology to those with previously limited or little access to it. Current primary projects include our New Work Initiative and our Broadway 101 video series. Both of these projects stem from a desire to inspire and encourage the youth into the arts and to give them an opportunity to share their voices and stories. Our New Work Initiative begins with an open submission closing January 2018. We have a panel of esteemed judges that will help us choose a work from the submission and produce it on tour in China and for a possible remount in the States. Our video series invites young theatre artists, actors, designers, directors, managers, technicians, etc., to talk about their experiences in New York City and the theatre scene. Not only to give the public a behind the scene look into what theatre is really like as a career, but again, to give artists a chance to tell their stories. Not just in a performance onstage, but as themselves in their daily lives. In the near future we would also like to begin our theatre and technology workshops open to theatre artists and the public. We are seeking a Director of Development with both experience working with non-profits and in the theatrical field.
